KL trip report

well, had a good time at KL. mum and me shopped to our heart's content! :) lets see...where were the places we went to? we stayed at The Regent, this posh hotel. why it's posh: nice rooms, a-ok room service (but they did forget to clean our room once), nice restrooms (the one on the third floor? it has mirrors and stuff so you can do your make-up there, and it's carpeted. carpeted, i tell you!! ada couch lagik ya!! whee!!!! they only put carpet at the make-up area...at the toilets there tak adalah..heh heh). and guess what? while we were there, Holland's own PM stayed there as well. we didn't get to see him, of course. there were a lot of bodyguards. and there were a lot of other foreigners around as well. once, me and mum were in the same lift as these French people. hearing them speak was like music to my ears! even though i don't know a word they're saying. watching a lot of french movies doesn't help, apparently. anyway, our hotel is actually just across the Bintang Walk, the shopper's paradise (hehehehe). there's actually an underground tunnel near The Regent that leads Bintang Walk...once you get out of there, first thing you'll see is Planet Hollywood. so yeah, mum and me spent a lot of time at that area. know what? i want to talk about this one place called Sakun. it's on the first floor of the Picollo Mondo (betulkah?) building. it's quite new. anyway, this Sakun place, (named after the owner, who, by the way, is a very lady) sells Thai silk. their collection is *wow* really really nice... my mum, a big fan of silk, terus rambang mata! haha... i also ambik kesempatan buy kain from there. i picked a plain red one for my top, and a nice checkered one (red, yellow, black) for my sarong. yay! happy... other than the Bintang Walk area, we also went to other places like Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman. our purpose of going to KL is actually to buy kain for raya, and Jln Tunku Abd. Rahman is the best place to shop for these things. one of the shop we went to was Gulati's, and their collection of silk is vast. so yeah, we spent maybe close to two hours there choosing which ones we want to buy. and we bought a lot! Gulati's is a bit pricey, so by the time we're done, we spent close to RM 1800. ouch. worth it, though. ok, so with silk shopping done, we went to other places to shop for other things. we went to Suria KLCC, my favourite place. know why i like it there? because they have Aseana and Kinokuniya. Aseana is this place where they sell souvenirs, clothes and stuff. i usually buy sarongs there. and Kinokuniya? it's a bookstore. a big bookstore. a very nice, very big bookstore >:) i bought "Strangers" by Taichi Yamada there. i tried to look for books on movies there, but couldn't find any. the closest thing i found about movies was books on movie soundtracks/scores. heh. there's a lot on Andrew Lloyd Webber there *starts humming* "say you love me every waking moment, turn my head with talk of summertime....tum ti tum..." thanks for introducing me to some of his songs, kimi! :) oh, ya..other than that, i also sempat buy new specs there. heh heh... it's one of those specs with thick frames, and it's red in colour! yay! happy... on the third day, we went to Berjaya Times Square. they have Borders there. i think it just opened early this year. anyway, it's this humongous book/movie/music store. and it has starbucks! woo hoo...i bought one movie there, and three books, and one magazine. yay! happy... and in the afternoon, we went to BB Plaza. i bought a new perfume for myself. Nina Ricci's Cherry Fantasy. is that a green-eyed monster i see there, Nysa? heh heh...on the last day, we just had breakfast at The Terrace at the hotel. we checked out at around eleven something. we took a taxi to the airport (when we arrived from Miri, we used the KLIA Express). our flight was delayed. the flight was supposed to be at 3 pm, but delayed to 4 pm instead. grr. so mum and me had chicken pie at Cafe Marche. at around 12.40 pm, Halim called to say he arrived from Miri already. yay! so i told him where we were, and we hung out at the cafe, just talking, until he had to go at 1.30 pm. after saying goodbye to him, mum and me shopped around the airport for chocolates to bring home to Miri. once that's done, we went to KFC. we just ordered drinks and one large box of nuggets. we just sat around there, eating and reading our books until 3.30. we then made our way to gate A6 to wait for our flight. so that's the end of my trip in KL. oh, and before i forget, yes, Jasmine, i went to that chicken rice restaurant and saw Sarah Raisuddin there (and Zaf VE the year before). i told you already kan? heh heh...and no, Kimi, i didn't get you any *** from KL. sorry! i didn't know where to look...wani!! i saw some toy duckies, tapi sik sempat beli because we were rushing! sorry!! ok, i'm done writing this entry. enjoy. don't forget to tip! :P
